Specialist is responsible for working as a backup to the Fleet
Supervisor to ensure drivers and equipment are performing as
necessary in order to provide on-time service to the company's
customers in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. In addition,
prioritizing and following all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company
policies and procedures. This position is also a crucial role for
interactive communication and requires a good communicator to
engage our driver team, and our sales and warehouse teams.SUMMARY
OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPlan, assign, direct routes, with Fleet
Supervisor through Roadnet/Omnitracs system to ensure maximize
operating efficiencies.Train/re-train Drivers, coach/mentor,
address complaints and resolve issues within the Transportation
Department.Assist/Communicate with the Driver team to ensure they
have everything they need to run their routes.Assist with
contacting Penske and outside motor carriers for repairs and
maintenance of equipment.Collaborate and communicate daily with the
Outbound Operations Team on loading preparation, changes and
issues.Finalize route and equipment assignments and daily loading
reports with the Fleet Supervisor and Operations
Departments.Collect all Drivers fuel receipts, Visa receipts to be
reconciled per driver at the end of each month. Reconcile each
Driver's Statement to ensure all receipts have been
submitted.Provide information to Sales, Accounts Receivable,
Customer Claims, New Accounts on driver ETA's, proof of delivery,
RGA's, New Route/StopAssist Fleet Supervisor with Route/Stop
changesSchedule and coordinate all 3rd party though Globaltranz,
Pitt Ohio, Teals pickups with the carriersKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIES REQUIREDFMCSA/Transportation Regulation knowledge a
mustDemonstrated ability to understand, support and execute safety
and regulatory compliance, including federal state and local laws
pertaining to transportationAbility to work a flexible schedule
(including night shift and overnights, if needed. 24 hour
availability to field emergency phone calls in the absence of the
Fleet Supervisor may be required.)Excellent written and verbal
communication with ability to exchange information effectively and
in a timely mannerStrong customer focus, results-driven and
positive attitudeMust be able to prioritize and perform multiple
tasks with impeccable follow-up skillsSolid analytical, problem
solving, strategic and innovative thinking skillsIntermediate
computer skills, Google Suite preferred, and applicable
company-specific applicationsEXPERIENCEMinimum 1+ years of
operational experience requiredComprehensive knowledge of DOT
