Cascade Park Gardens, Tacoma's premier affordable Memory Care community, is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health/Recreation Technician to contribute significantly to the FUN our amazing residents require. The individual selected will need to be FUN, CREATIVE, reliable, customer service-minded, and take pride in making our residents smile through the delivery of quality programming in our building. A desire to engage with geropsychiatric residents is necessary to be successful in this position.Responsibilities may include:Plan, organize, and direct individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of each resident.Conduct programs to improve patient mental and physical well-being, instruct patients in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques designed to meet their specific needs.Communicate available programs to the residents and encourage participation.Routinely evaluate, assess, develop, and fulfill your departmental program functions as required to carry out the continuing mission of the organization within its guiding principles and core values.Be willing to help on the floor with resident care needs as needed. - Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job.Qualifications and skills:Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a High School diploma or equivalentMust be willing to acquire or have HCA/CNA certification from the State of WashingtonMust have knowledge of nursing care practices, especially in the context of geriatric care; state Boarding Home regulations pertaining to resident careMust have at least two (2) years' experience working in a social or recreation program, preferably in a boarding home or long-term care setting, conducting both individual and group activitiesExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentDependable, team-player, caring and able to foster atmosphere of dignity and respectClean background checkRequires a positive attitude and high energy levelRequires strong communication skillsBe detail-orientedBenefits:Room for advancementFree Employee meal while workingMedical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance and 401KPaid Time OffCascade Park Communities is committed to nondiscrimination in employment and opportunity on the basis of age, sex, color, race, national origin, religious persuasion, marital status, military status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, political belief, disability, or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
