Join SM Cargo's specialty crew as our next Lead Operations Manager SM Cargo, dedicated to air and ground cargo transport, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TrueBlue, Inc., and a strategic branch of Staff Management - SMX operations. As a Lead Operations Manager with the SM Cargo team, the continued success of our relationship with our partner(s) depends on you. The role of the Lead Operations is to manage all activities associated with the Inbound and Outbound freight operations for Air and Ground Transportation. Safety, Security, Training, and Compliance are critical requirements in achieving operational excellence. These activities include the supervision of the hourly employees, training, auditing, communication, safety, and execution of the daily operating plan. This position requires multi-tasking, attention to detail, problem resolution, and strong leadership skills to ensure that all SM and United Airlines policies and procedures are executed in accordance with the airline, government, and airport regulations. SALARY: $72,500 Essential Job Functions: BUSINESS ACUMEN Understands the business implications of decisions. Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition. Displays orientation to profitability. Aligns work with strategic goals. CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Review periodic client satisfaction surveys and oversee actions to improve them. Address the client when problems are escalated. Meet regularly with the client to ensure ongoing client satisfaction. Work with the onsite operations manager and service teams to easily identify any service problems or potential problems provide quick and effective solutions. FORECASTING AND BUDGETING Inspect and train managers/supervisors to be able to prepare annual and monthly 7-month forecasts. Review and make changes to forecasts and budgets when appropriate. Find lower-cost alternatives and saving costs where possible. CHANGE MANAGEMENT Develops workable implementation plans. Communicates changes effectively. Builds commitment and overcomes resistance. Prepares and supports those affected by any changes. Monitors transition and evaluates results. TRAINING Trains any new managers and provides all necessary tools to improve service quality. Maintains quarterly QC audits, schedules and frameworks, Standard Operating Procedures, and quarterly Executive Reviews. Experience:

  • A.A. or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school, or at least two years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to solve complex problems, sometimes involving higher math, to quickly adapt to changes in a fluctuating business environment
  • Knowledge of MS Office software: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
    • Comfort communicating to various audiences, both orally and in writing
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
