Working in our Urgent Care Department of our busy, 10 doctor, AAHA accredited practice, you will utilize all the knowledge you have worked so hard to master, while continuing to expand your skillset. We provide same-day and next-day appointments to existing and new clients in the Tacoma, WA region. This is not your typical preventative care visit. Cases will be diverse and require in-hospital diagnostics, treatments, and nursing care. The ideal candidate will love variety and be adaptable to an ever-changing case load. Our team thrives in a fast-paced, compassionate, patient-care focused environment. We are made up of devoted team players who work in a collaborative environment and are invested in the success of the entire team.We are offering a competitive wage ($24+/hr.DOE), 2-weeks paid vacation, continuing education benefits, and professional development. Relocation assistance available to the right candidate. Required qualification: Licensed Veterinary Technician in Washington or eligible to become LVT within 6 months of hiring. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. You've worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect patient histories and review referral medical records for pertinent information
  • Perform physical exams and report results to doctor
  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters
  • Working knowledge of radiation safety
  • Perform radiographs and other diagnostic imaging as ordered
  • Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection
  • Perform in-hospital laboratory diagnostics including fecals, urinalysis, differentials, and cytologies
  • Process lab samples utilizing in-hospital laboratory equipment
  • Ability to calculate drug dosages accurately
  • Manage client invoices (PVL) and charge for urgent care services appropriately
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
