The Head of Strategy and Optimization is responsible for operational and strategic success of Husky's Technology, Project Management, and Innovation Teams. The role oversees the people, process, and programs focused on setting strategy for improving the use of technology across the entire organization with specific priority on operations. Leads the department to assess organizational business practices, analyzing data to help inform business strategy, and develop partnerships with vendors to ensure the continuity of systems critical to operating the bustiness. This role will oversee and maintain a cohesive service and support team of IT, Project Management, and Innovation professionals for the organization. The HSO leverages a deep functional and operational knowledge of designing and implementing programs, projects, initiatives, and services in the Marine Terminal environment. They provide leadership for the evaluation of continuous improvement programs benefitting Husky and have experience leading business process improvement initiatives. This leader will be responsible for the overall implementation of Husky's Strategic Plan across departments and will be involved with direct reporting back to the President.Quick Facts Compensation: -$156,000 to $234,000 annually depending on experience -Working hours: -Full-time, exempt, On-SiteReports to: -PresidentJob Functions: -Strategy and Optimization, Project Management, Information TechnologyEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   • Develop and maintain strategic and operational plans for technology and innovative practices that are aligned with the mission and values of Husky and that support the goals of the various function areas and departments
  • Create and Maintain the 5-year Strategic Business Plan with ELT
  • Oversee project timelines for IT infrastructure and hardware/software adoption across the organization
  • Manage IT, Project Management, Shared Services function areas, personnel, project timelines, and strategic planning budgets
  • Advise on programs and continuous improvement processes; that drive efficiency and decrease variability at all levels of the company
  • Oversee inter-departmental resources for deployments, project management, and inventory control.
  • Anticipates and identifies potential problems or risks and presents alternative solutions
  • Lead using data and statistics to find issues and then drive solutions
  • Serves as the "Chief of Staff" as a member of Husky's Executive Leadership TeamAdditional Responsibilities include the following:
    • Comply with Corporate Safety and IT policies and procedures. -
    • Attend required safety trainings and meetings; follow all safety and health guidelines, standards, practices, policies, and procedures; and actively participate in the Husky's Emergency Preparedness program and activities

      • Highschool Diploma or GED required
      • Bachelor's degree in project management, business management, or equivalent combination of education and experienceRelated experience:
        • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in business operations, administration, technical advisory or leadership roles.
        • Minimum five (5) years of experience with a preference for those with a strategy/planning, program management and/or similar role in a technology
        • Marine Terminal Operations preferred
        • Experience owning complex strategy development and implementation across multiple function areas of a company with a focus on enables world-class user experiences
        • People leadership experience, having led teams to drive collaborative decisions while developing an autonomous team to drive business results
        • Critical thinker - you have superior problem solving and analytical skills, take a data-driven, analytical approach to draw upon business insight where information is incomplete
        • Results-oriented - you have an appetite for driving business impact / execution, including in a highly autonomous role
        • Creation and support of standards, processes, and procedures which are instituted as best practices.
        • Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation.
        • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with cross functional teams, vendors, outside agencies, community groups, and the general public. Working cooperatively with other all departments, Agency officials, and outside agencies. Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
          • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
          • Strong background in technology deployment. Required Credentials:
