Job Description:

Position Description: PMW has an immediate opening for a surface processing / machined components buyer. The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience of aerospace surface processing and/or 4-axis & 5-axis machined hard-metal components. This position has responsibility for purchasing, supplier scheduling, tracking, and effective communication to support production in a timely and cost-effective manner. Position Responsibilities: Supplier Management
Accurately enter purchase orders into ERP system
Cost and lead-time standards are accurate.
Monitor and track supplier performance including delivery and quality.
Ensure regular and consistent communication with suppliers.
Makes cost-effective purchases by consolidating volume discounts and blanket orders as appropriate, with attention to deadlines.
Supplier Selection & Contracting
Research alternative and/or new service resources.
Assist in qualifying new suppliers to meet internal standards and end-customer requirements.
Effectively negotiate price and lead-times
Project Management of New or Transferred Work
Utilize project management tools to manage details of transitioning work among supply-base.
Communicate effectively with all affected internal departments to ensure smooth transition.
Track and report progress of work transfers
General
Effectively communicate with all affected internal department personnel status and issues which may affect any element of PMW operations and/or ability to meet customer requirements.







Qualifications: Education and Experience - Ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of metal machining processes, surface processing and heat-treat technology. At least 5 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an aerospace machine shop environment.
Bachelors Degree (any discipline) is preferred
Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Must be able to effectively develop, track and manage complex projects.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Working familiarity with Microsoft Office.







Total Compensation: The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. $30-$35/hr -PI217007838
