Come grow with us!General Purpose and Scope of Position:The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for visualizing and designing the organization's data management framework. This framework describes the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data. This role is responsible for defining and documenting data standards and principles, the technical architecture of the enterprise data, including the physical components and their functionality. This role will ensure a scalable end-to-end data architecture involving a variety of sources and destinations by leveraging existing and commercially available technology stacks. This individual relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Key Skills and Abilities Include:Degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis or a related field of study Proven experience defining data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition Proven experience in defining reference architecture that others can follow to create and improve data systems Proven experience defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, master, and reference dataExperience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata)Experience with ETL and other business intelligence tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in data warehousing, data modeling, and/or data analysisKey Personal Attributes Include:Expert knowledge of data management, data integration, and database development techniquesAbility to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needAbility to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teamsSpecific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:Lead the data design of solutions for large projects and programs; through expert knowledge translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standardsWork as part of the program team governing and shaping the delivery of projects. Work closely with external suppliers to ensure the solution makes the best use of technology and meets requirementsSimplify the existing data architecture, delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities in line with the policies and standards of the groupResponsible throughout the entire project lifecycle for the end-to-end solution of the project and compliance with enterprise data model and logical data groupsProvide clear, continuous, and consistent data architecture leadership at a detailed level within the projectEnsure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meet the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture directionDrive project knowledge back to the enterprise data model and ensure that it evolves correctlyLead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex data systems and solutionsWork with the business intelligence teams to develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysisCreate and maintain current- and target-state data architecturesDefine and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data qualityEnsure technology solutions are in alignment with data architecture principles and target stateWork with IT teams, business analysts, and data analytics teams to understand data consumers' needs and develop solutionsEvaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analyticsCompensation and Benefits:Competitive annual salary (to be determined based on experience and other factors)Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Employee Assistance Program, vacation, sick time, life insurance, + more); Pension Plan, 401k match up to 3%Drug-free workplaceIf you are currently a Wilbur-Ellis employee, please notify your Manager prior to applying for this position.
