"Serving our community with acceptance, compassion and respect" About Cascade: Cascade has providing behavioral health services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. We currently have five locations providing outpatient services in Lewis County. Cascade is currently seeking a Peer Counselor to join our Adult Services Team! Peer Counselors perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that include assisting clients in articulating their goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the peer counselor---s own recovery experience, and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services. The position assists clients in treatment, based on the principles of recovery, wellness, and resiliency, by promoting self-determination, personal responsibility, and the empowerment inherent in self-directed recovery. By inspiring hope that recovery, wellness and resiliency are achievable goals, the position can assist and empower clients, who are diagnosed with mental illnesses and/or co-occurring disorders, as well as other chronic illnesses or injuries, to achieve their personal recovery goals. The position performs a wide range of tasks to assist clients in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery and wellness process. This position is supporting and funded by a 2-year Certified Community Behavioral Clinic (CCBHC) Expansion Grant. Cascade Community Healthcare, as a healthcare facility, must comply with the Washington State Governor---s mandatory vaccination proclamation. The proclamation states all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 18th. Exemptions from the vaccine requirement are allowed for those individuals who are entitled to a disability-related reasonable accommodation or a sincerely held religious belief accommodation. What you'll need to get the job done: High School Diploma or GED required, A.A. degree preferred. Washington State Counselor credential required (AAC). Washington State certification as Peer counselor required, or able to obtain within six months. Must be bilingual. (Must speak both English and Spanish fluently). Training in advocacy/support preferred. Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check. A national background check may be required if have not live in Washington State consecutively the last three years. Two years--- experience working in a social service setting preferred. Must be able to work as part of a coordinated team. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed. Must have a valid driver---s license. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the personnel office. What You'll Love About Us: Meaningful work. Able to share resources and information within multiple systems in an individualized manner so that participants feel supported. Must be able to assist participants in developing self- advocacy and natural supports. Must be willing to assist participants in developing, maintaining, or attaining community living skills. Able to engage and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. Able to maintain a non-judgmental attitude towards participants. Must maintain compliance with HIPAA and fulfill duty as a mandated reporter. Must receive regular supervision from a Mental Health Professional. Other duties as assigned.
