Providence Health Services is calling a temporary Phlebotomist
(0.5 FTE, Variable Shift) to Providence Centralia Hospital in
A Phlebotomist I is responsible for clinical laboratory duties,
including reception and telephone duties & proficient operation
laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling:
receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at
Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy -
collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick;
therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro
samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training
new staff as assigned.
In this position you will:
Required qualifications for this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an approved phlebotomy or Medical Assistant
Training program meeting requirement to become licensed as a MA-P
or MA-C by WA State.
- Because of the nature of this position, a Medical Assistant -
Certification is required (MA-C).
