JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As a National Strategic Customer Manager, you are charged with the responsibility of growing profitable revenue with target customers, from selected specialty businesses within Sunbelt Rentals. Coupled with; Safety, Health & Environmental expectations will always be held to the highest standards of our company, customers, their clients and people we interact with. The successful person in this role will strive to represent Sunbelt with technical, market segment and professional sales knowledge. This is aimed to secure regional & national contracts within Distribution & Commercial Warehouse enterprises. And, provide consistent communication to the stakeholders in our business, to build enthusiasm and acceptance of programs at both the field level and senior management level.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop relationships with the targeted strategic customer offices and decision makers, influencers within their assigned territory with the goal of building strong sales relationships and for Sunbelt to be recognized as their 'go-to' solutions provider.
  • These targets would need to fit one of the three requirements for inclusion in the Strategic Account Program - (1) target company operates from a Preferred Supplier list, (2) target company utilizes centralized rental equipment for a multi-state area; (3) Power & HVAC and Climate Control combined, to be lead service provider
  • Coordinate sales calls and technical representation with other sales people, operators, manufacturers and teams
  • Provide detailed travel schedule (4 weeks out) updated every 2 weeks
  • Attend, in person and virtually, national and regional trade shows as necessary
  • Keep Sales Director's and VP's apprised of weekly activities
  • Identify major best practices, problems/issues at the Sales Rep level which can be addressed via training or action at the territory level.
  • Provide clear and timely communications to Sales Reps and Managers regarding products, services, pricing and customer specific information.
  • Perform other duties assigned as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma + 10 years' work experience or College degree and 6+ years' work experience
  • 6-8+ years in Outside Sales or Sale Management role. Documented successful territory management showing consistent revenue growth.
  • Comfortable cold calling on new accounts.

Proven intermediate or advanced technical sales knowledge of Power generation, and/or HVAC systems

  • Strong, presentation, Microsoft Office and Wynne RentalMan (a plus but not required) skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Comfortable calling on jobsites and corporate offices
  • Ability to incorporate the Specialty Businesses into their presentations and product offerings.
  • 75% to 85% travel time.
  • This individual will work from their homes so no relocation required, although significant travel will be involved.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
