An Information Support Specialist job in Tacoma, WA, is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You should have a minimum of one year of experience in a technical help desk setting environment, along with being proficient in computer operating systems and applications. Your primary responsibility is for day-to-day user assistance and customer service on company computer applications and platforms. This position will work as part of a team to troubleshoot and resolve problems and engage the appropriate resources to resolve the issue when necessary. Milgard was recently acquired by MI Windows, creating additional opportunities for growth and synergies between these two industry leaders.Information Support Specialist job responsibilities include:* Responds to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically* Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues* Research required material using available resources* Follow standard Help Desk procedures* Route issues to the appropriate resource* Document all issue data according to the standard operating procedure* Log all Help Desk interactions with internal and external customers* Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention or a higher level of knowledgeRequirements Qualifications: * A minimum of one-year experience in a technical help desk setting environment* A High School Diploma or GED is required; A degree in a computer-related field is desired* A+ Hardware certification and ITIL standards certification is desired* Proficient in computer operating systems and applications* Knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop operating systems* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications* Customer service and experience with call tracking software* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Ability to perform typical computer maintenance and repair* Must demonstrate knowledge in the user administration* Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines* May be required to lift to 50 lbs. periodically* Work outside regular hours may be required, including some weekends based on IT business needs.
