Child Care Day Camp Assistant Director Location: Tacoma, WA

Starting Wage: $15.50+ per hour
Dates of Employment: May 1 – September 2 (exact dates will be

Assist in the overall administration and operation of summer day
camp program under the direct supervision of the Childcare Summer
Day Camp Director. Provides a quality experience to children and

Assist director with camp interviews, events, trainings, and
Coordinate ordering of summer supplies
Incorporate weekly themes into camp and ensure curriculum and
programming for assigned camps is executed daily
Provide resources and new programming ideas for camp program
Monitor day camp program to ensure quality standards are being
Manage all day to day camp operations
Coordinate all parent communication and attend to all parent
concerns ensuring appropriate communication and follow up
Follow up on accident/incident reports
Plan and execute weekly staff meetings
Support and assist childcare day camp director in supervision of
all day camp staff
Create and monitor weekly staff schedules to maintain proper
Provide leadership, recognition, and mentoring to camp staff
Complete quick checks of day camp program to maintain high
quality operations including safety, fun and programming
Provide support and advice related to working with children’s
behaviors and interests
Assist director with staff and program evaluations
Monitor weekly budget, make recommendations and adjustments
Financial Development and Philanthropy:

and /or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable
dollars to fulfill our mission.

perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally may need to plan and participate in programming
Minimum 21 years of age
One year experience in summer day camp
Positive attitude and previous experience with children and
Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and related
equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention
training, and online trainings within 30 days of hire date and
other required trainings within 60 days.
