Job Summary This Supervisor, Epic Training is responsible for daily operations and oversight of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) application classroom training to assure activities are conducted in a cost-effective, consistent and efficient manner, meet customer needs and are compliant with internal policies/standards/procedures. The duties include organizing, planning and overseeing the core application curriculum and new hire training/onboarding of both employees/medical staff within scope of position and for assisting management in maintaining the integrity and quality of the clinical EHR training curriculum and environment in support of optimal patient care.  An incumbent also keeps abreast of quality initiatives to assure application curriculum aligns with quality workflows. The responsibilities are performed in accordance with established standards/guidelines and requires considerable knowledge of EPIC applications/modules, including build practices, sufficient to assure compliant operations and to exercise judgment and critical thinking in addressing operational issues. This role also requires expertise in supervising, mentoring and evaluating the work of assigned credentialed training staff.  In addition, the incumbent works with higher level management on major operational or business decisions prior to implementation. Essential Job Duties Oversees EHR training operations, environment and curriculum development/maintenance. Supervises classroom training operations/activities relating EHR application curriculum to ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner and in accordance with professional standards, budget constraints, internal policies/standards/procedures and/or applicable regulatory requirements. Implements and enforces quality control/quality assurance and productivity standards; ensures that applicable standards, systems and procedures are understood and followed; Serves as liaison with divisional operational leaders to support the effective/timely education of staff on the EHR platform in support of operational/clinical objectives and in collaboration with CHI National training leadership/teams. Monitors and audits related documentation to ensure conformance with established standards relating to timeliness, and accuracy; prepares periodic productivity reports and program updates for review of higher-level authority. Schedules, supervises and evaluates the work of assigned staff in accordance with established procedures; assists in identifying adequate staffing levels for appropriate coverage to meet budgetary and operational objectives; ensures that staff are qualified and properly trained to perform assigned job duties. Assures current curriculum supports regulatory and clinical quality outcomes. Solicits feedback from stakeholder groups (e.g. Compliance, Risk Management, Informatics, etc.) that may prompt timely editing of the application curriculum; coordinates transparent communicate cascade and end-user feedback loop; researches and develops responses to requests and issues identified by operational and clinical leaders. Translates clinical/operational workflow into appropriate EHR application actions to facilitate successful end-user utilization. Plans and delivers structured classroom training for assigned application(s) as needed; assesses effectiveness of training as compared to established standards/objectives. Leads assigned classroom activities; records questions and feedback as appropriate to include in future education and/or end user support sessions. Leads instruction and competency testing for super- and end-users. Ensures course attendance is accurately recorded and administers and grades end-user proficiency examinations. Reviews current curriculum and lesson plans to ensure articulacy with any changes to the materials. Ensures the readiness of training rooms, computer workstations, devices and materials in preparation for classes; collaborates with administrative support staff to ensure accurate attendance and reporting from classes. Performs related duties as required. Education/Work Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, and a minimum of one year of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities; OR Three years of work experience in the discipline that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, OR Master’s degree Licensure/Certification EPIC EHR Application Training Certification.
