POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate computation and
execution of monthly and semi-monthly and other periodic
compensation transactions. Able to communicate effectively and
resolve colleague's questions with consistently demonstrated
service excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate with Human Resources and Physician Services as
necessary for initial processing of newly hired colleagues.
* Maintain colleague compensation files.
* Coordinate documentation processing for terminated
colleagues.
* Review scheduling, shift assignment and revenue reports from
operating units supporting payroll compensation.
* Coordinate with operating units to assure timely and accurate
submission of information.
* Perform compensation calculations in time for scheduled pay
dates.
* Perform timely inputs and review within payroll processing
service to submit accurate payrolls.
* Maintain and review criteria for bonus determination; document
and report bonus determinations.
* Maintain and review documentation for colleague advances and
other transactions.
* Maintain and review documentation for levies, garnishments and
similar transactions.
* Research and resolve various tax questions with payroll
service.
* Research and resolve colleague's compensation questions to
colleague's satisfaction in a service oriented manner.
* Advise management about general and specific issues regarding
compensation payments, particularly those issues related to
perceptions of communication with colleagues.
* Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by
manager.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM YOUR JOB:

* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, comfortable with other MS
Office Suite applications
* Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, including COBRA,
ERISA, HIPAA and FMLA and local taxes helpful.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education Minimum:
College-level tax, business or accounting courses desirable
Experience Minimum:
At least 3 years compensation processing experience.
Preferred: 3+ years in compensation experience in $25mm or larger
organization with multiple business locations and operating units,
in physician management or healthcare field
SPECIAL JOB OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
* Indoor office environment
* Occasional work requirements on weekends or beyond normal daytime
work hours associated with month-end closings (once monthly)
OTHER PHYSICAL AND/OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS ABOUT YOUR JOB:
* Sitting at desk for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
* Working on computer for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
* Moving/lifting file boxes (up to 25 lbs.)
* Climbing stairs in 4-level office environment
