Job Description Job Summary and Responsibilities Are you a
skilled and compassionate CT Technologist ready to make a
significant impact on patient care? St. Joseph Medical Center in
Tacoma, WA is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1.0 FTE CT
Technologist to join our dynamic Radiology team for our day shift.

candidates. In this vital role, you will be the cornerstone of
accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. As our CT Technologist,
you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic
images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or
rule out diverse medical conditions. Every day, you will adeptly
create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues,
and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in
patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in
fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout
the imaging process. What you'll bring to this role: To be
successful, you will deeply understand the critical importance of
diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of
general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques,
and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for
timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.
Key responsibilities include: - Executing all diagnostic CT studies
utilizing equipment such as General Electric CT scanners,
workstations, and associated patient care equipment. - Following
formal protocols for all work assignments, clearly explaining
procedures to patients, and addressing any questions or concerns. -
Completing assigned examinations, including filming, jacket
retrieval, and locating old images. - Delivering compassionate
patient care for all age groups requiring CT services, acting as a
vital liaison between the patient and the radiologist. - Performing
basic patient care activities and confidently responding to
emergency situations while delivering care. - Consulting with
nursing staff regarding changes in a patient’s condition,
thoroughly documenting patient care notes in charts, and completing
incident forms when necessary. - Ensuring patient comfort and
protection from radiation sources by utilizing appropriate
procedures/accessories and consulting protocol manuals for scanning
parameters to reduce unnecessary exposure and keep patient dose as
low as possible. - Performing incidental office duties to maintain
timely and complete patient records, including entering patient
data into existing computer databases and recording applicable exam
codes and supplies used on billing sheets. - Conducting Quality
Assurance audits and activities as assigned. Job Requirements
Required - Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological
Technology, (including course work in cross-sectional anatomy
and/or demonstrated skill/knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy),
upon hire and - One year of work experience in the senior level of
the core job family or - any combination of experience or education
that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the
position - Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and - Medical Radiographer:
WA, upon hire Preferred - One year of work experience as a CT
