Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 14 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Dept position in an off-campus ED, requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong ED skills. Responsibilities - Work in an off-campus Emergency Department with 10 beds and 7-10 hall spaces per site - Patient population includes neonatal through geriatric, with 25% pediatric cases and walk-in traumas - Typical shift is 12 hours at night, with rotating weekends and negotiable holiday coverage - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4; fast track area utilizes a team model of 1:6 with additional support - Floating to other off-campus ED sites is required as needed and may occur mid-shift - RNs are responsible for ventilator and BiPAP management due to absence of RT onsite; ventilator and BiPAP training provided - Charting is completed in Epic, with use of Alaris and Pyxis systems - Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, chest tube and central line management, and frequent collaboration with LPNs - May be required to function as charge nurse; facility will provide training if necessary - Support staff includes LPNs, some phlebotomy assistance, but most blood draws/peripheral IVs are RN responsibility - No respiratory therapists or onsite pharmacy; RNs mix medications with pharmacy support via video conference - Orientation includes one hospital day, dedicated educator time, full day on the unit, and an 8-hour respiratory class - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Scrub colors are not restricted - Free parking is available at all sites - COVID and PPE provided, with N95s, PAPRs, and goggles Requirements - Active WA or compact RN license required for consideration - Minimum two years of true ER nursing experience; CAP candidates must have five years ER experience - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC - Experience caring for diverse patient populations including trauma and pediatric cases - Proficiency with ventilator and BiPAP management; training provided if needed - Must complete and pass a Telemetry Competency exam prior to start Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628216.
