TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/12/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel UNIT: Birth Center - 2 years of exp. is required. May consider a 1st time traveler with strong experience. SimpliFi Clinical Interviews - Unit mgr. approval on all files prior to offer. Certs Required: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) Experience Required: 2 years minimum. Must have EPIC. High acuity experience: labor management and delivery of high risk OB patients, ability to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, cervical checks, reading/interpreting fetal monitoring strips; second set of hands (receive and recover normal newborn as needed). RN: AWHONN Guidelines 1:1-Active Labor 1:2-Non-Active Laboring 1:2-3 - Antepartum, dependent on acuity Patient Types: -HIGH acuity: Hypertension, Mg administration, C-sections (33% c section rate), Preterm labor, Insulin drips (rarely- follow protocol), vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, Robust antepartum, PROM, Multiple births, post-partum hemorrhage. -Transition post vaginal births and C-Section (mom and baby) Expectation is full recovery of birthing patient and baby; If there is a second set of hands to attend the birth and they will assign APGARS, but no guarantee they will be available after that to help care for the baby -270-280 deliveries per month Floating: Yes, Antepartum (within L & D) , postpartum (4th floor) (occasionally), additional assignments within scope and experience.
