Maintains any documentation required by state or facility guidelines to demonstrate compliance with supervision requirements. Provides psychiatric consultation, diagnostic and treatment services to the identified patient population, including medication management and crisis intervention servicesWhat you bring to the table:Education:Graduation from an accredited nursing schoolExperience:--- Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.--- Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution.Licenses/Certifications:Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of practice, as recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Adult PMHNP certification.Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract.What you will do:Provides comprehensive assessment, plan development, implementation of plan of care and evaluation of effectiveness of interventions with revisions as necessary.Initiate, monitors, alters medications and treatments according to approved protocols.Demonstrates thorough understanding of all requirements and practice standards relating to the prescription, administration of medications including compliance with organization policy and procedures, documentation, requirements, medication education.Monitors medication and initiates appropriate therapies for certain conditions and changes medications according to variations in a patient s response within established protocols.Observes and differentiates between signs and symptoms associated with normal human physiology and those indicative of pathological changes.Documents all relevant patient care issues in patients progress notes and treatment plan all relevant patient care issues.Includes the use of seclusion and restraint and alternative interventions, documentation requirements, disaster and fire procedures, infection control, risk management.Is sensitive to cultural diversity issues, treats patients as an individual, and considers the culture of the patients when providing care and treatment.Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span developmental needs of each patient.Participates in psychiatric on-call schedule if on-call services are requiredEnsures progress note and treatment plan documentation is in specified format, problem oriented, corresponds to the therapeutic order and is legibleEnsures all documentation is dated, timed, legible, problem oriented and signedAdheres to the established formulary for therapeutic regimens before using non-formulary proceduresSupports standards of psychiatric care through adherence to existing policies and procedures for admission to the infirmary and transfer to emergency room utilization review process for specialty consultant referralsAssumes responsibility and accountability for his/her individual judgments and actions.Provides input into facility mandatory committees such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Quality Improvement, Patient Care Management, Medical Audit Committee, State Psychiatric Meetings/Conference calls, Mental Health Treatment Team, as requested by Staff Psychiatrist, Mental Health Coordinator, Mental Health Director, Health Services Administrator or designee.Perform other duties as assigned.Wellpath is an EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disability EmployerOur investment in you:Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance plan optionsTime off & leave benefits401KTuition ReimbursementParental benefitsPerks and discountsAnd more available here
