Description Providence is calling a Phlebotomist II (0.5 FTE/20 hours per week, Variable Shift) to work at Phlebotomy in Providence St. Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA. Apply Today! A Phlebotomist II is responsible for clinical laboratory duties reception and telephone duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as assigned. In this position you will:

• Perform reception and telephone duties
• Ability to handle and process multiple specimen drops (i.e.) Courier Drops, Health Care Professional Drops, Tube Station Specimen Drops.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the unit's testing procedures, systems and databases as necessary to the position
• Perform EKG test procedures (where offered) and phlebotomy tasks, collect venous blood specimens from patient age groups, as certified.
• Perform office/clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and typing.
• Clean and maintain equipment and keeps the laboratory area clean and orderly. Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Completion of an approved phlebotomy or medical assistance program meeting requirements to be licenses as a MA-P or MA-C in WA State
  • 3 months cirect experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program
