Description Providence is calling a Phlebotomist II (0.5 FTE/20
hours per week, Variable Shift) to work at Phlebotomy in Providence
St. Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA. Apply Today! Applications

questions from our Modern Hire system. A Phlebotomist II is
responsible for clinical laboratory duties reception and telephone
duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including
HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep
& shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories;
specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood
samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood
collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per
competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as
assigned. In this position you will:
- Perform reception and telephone duties
- Ability to handle and process multiple specimen drops (i.e.)
Courier Drops, Health Care Professional Drops, Tube Station
Specimen Drops.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the unit's testing procedures, systems
and databases as necessary to the position
- Perform EKG test procedures (where offered) and phlebotomy
tasks, collect venous blood specimens from patient age groups, as
certified.
- Perform office/clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and
typing.
- Clean and maintain equipment and keeps the laboratory area
clean and orderly. Required qualifications for this position
include:
- Completion of an approved phlebotomy or medical assistance
program meeting requirements to be licenses as a MA-P or MA-C in WA
State
- 3 months cirect experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion
of a Phlebotomy program
- Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P) or (MA-C)
