Providence is calling a Speech Language Pathologist (0.8 FTE/32 hours per week, Day Shift) to work in Speech Therapy at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

The Speech Language Pathologist provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment to patients who exhibit speech language or swallowing disorders and are inpatients or outpatients of Providence Centralia Hospital or are seen through contractual speech/language services. Education of staff, patients and family is emphasized relative to diagnosed speech language or swallowing disorder.



In this position you will:

• 
  
• Provide initial patient evaluation in accordance to physician request in order to initiate appropriate treatment, which is reasonable in the terms of accepted practice and necessary to recovery of function.
  
  
• Establish treatment goals and plan of care based on assessment and test results. Plan based on assessed data.
  
  
• Provide therapy treatment to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
  
  
• Re-Evaluation of patient and adjustments in treatment plan is based on acceptable practices.
  
  
• The ability to instruct the patient to achieve maximum compliance with treatment and results in a minimal amount of time or provide education to patients and their families to achieve maximal results:
  
  
  
  
  
  Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree - A graduate of a program approved by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
    
    
  • WA State Speech-Language Pathologist License
    
    
  • American Speech-Language Hearing Association certification
    
    
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
