Sea Mar Behavioral Health in Aberdeen is seeking a Full-time
Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor supervises all aspects
of the intensive inpatient treatment program. Helps prepare budgets
and calendars with the Program Manager. Coordinates with the
Program Manager regarding administrative and all clinical
management procedures relating to residents. The Clinical
Supervisor is responsible for implementing the facility's program
according to the policies and procedures. The individual in this
position is expected to subscribe to the philosophy that Chemical
Dependency is a disease and total abstinence is the long term goal
for individuals in recovery.
This position supervises the clinical documentation performed by
the Chemical Dependency Professionals / CDP Trainees at the site,
using the reports available in Cerner. This person carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- The ability to lead a team of professionals with a
multi-disciplinary approach to services for high risk youth.
- The ability to listen and understand individuals in need of
personal attention. to determine if an individual is chemically
dependent, to evaluate a patient's needs in dealing with a drug
related problem, and to firmly recommend a treatment plan for each
patient are all essential.
- Additionally important is the ability to supervise, lead, and
conduct group sessions of high risk adolescent patients.
- Mastery of counseling and other treatment procedures for
alcohol related problems, a thorough knowledge of regulations
concerning alcoholism treatment, and an awareness of available
community resources for individuals with alcohol related problems
are all necessary.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university, in public health, education, or social sciences, or a
minimum of five (5) years working as alcoholism and chemical
dependency counselor with high risk youth.
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience, after becoming a
licensed Chemical Dependency Professional.
- Working knowledge of WAC's, RCW's and ASAM criteria is
essential, and a working knowledge of mental health issues and an
understanding of how to develop, implement, and monitor
- Must hold a certification from the Department of Health as a
Chemical Dependency Professional.
