Description As the Buyer you will work closely with product,
R&D, supply planning, finance, and a wide range of external
vendors to drive supply and cost optimization, inventory
visibility, and relationship building. Selecting and managing
suppliers, reducing cost, managing materials requirements, and
scaling to meet the growth goals of Bulletproof. You will have a
proven track record in delivering results in a fast-paced and
dynamic business environment. You will have strong business acumen,
be comfortable interfacing with various functional teams, have a
passion for developing and implementing processes in an ambiguous
problem space, and be willing to roll up their sleeves to deliver
results that will significantly impact Bulletproof. The ideal
candidate needs to have strong and proven communication,
leadership, analytical, and influencing skills. Successful leaders
at Bulletproof are hands-on, results oriented, collaborative, and
able to deliver innovative solutions with little to no supervision
and guidance. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills
will be critical to the success of this position. The Buyer is
responsible for ensuring that high quality materials are available
to Bulletproof at the expected time, in the expected quantities and
at the expected costs. Functional responsibilities include
planning, procurement, and cost reductions for low to medium
complexity materials, including off the shelf and semi-custom
components. Additional Information : Hourly contract rate:
$35-$40/hour. Weekly hours: 30-40 hours per week, planned to start
in February and expected to last 6 months. This is a fully remote
contract role; candidates can be located anywhere within the United
States. Key Responsibilities: Issue POs in ERP system and track
delivery of POs and Materials to destination. Track receipt of
orders at co-manufacturer and update inventory accordingly Use MRP
to develop and maintain the buy plan to ensure strategic inventory
levels are sustained Work closely with co-manufacturers to manage
end-to-end production timeline from PO creation to delivery as
needed. Improve upon lead times where possible Identify current and
potential product shortages, escalate and support triage, advise
interested parties of status and recovery plans. Ensures issues are
managed to closure Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and
Transportation teams to manage the production and delivery
schedules to drive continuous supply and inventory levels Partner
with Finance team to close out relevant inquiries Proactively
communicate supply issues and risk mitigation plans in regular
update meetings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred,
Engineering or Supply Chain Management 2-5 years of materials
purchasing and/or planning experience Experience in Fast-moving
Consumer Goods industry or manufacturing knowledge are a plus
Previous experience working with MRP/ERP systems Ability to model
and work in Microsoft Excel Builds effective internal and external
business relationships Ability to triage issues and drive to
resolution Transparent in approach with a strong process-centric
background Flexible and able to work within ambiguity Adopts
analytical thinking to solve issues with accurate data and analysis
Works well in a fast paced, rapid growth, evolving environment is a
must Self-motivator and able to drive results quickly. Additional
