Datacenter Operational Supply Chain team is responsible for
establishing a flexible, efficient and reliable supply chain that
can support a portfolio of complex datacenter operations. We are
looking to fill a critical role of Director - Sourcing and
Procurement.This role is located either in one or all hub locations
- Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or
Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful
candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the
hub office location.This role is eligible for hybrid or remote
work, up to 100%.QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain
Analytics, or related field AND 9+ years supply planning,
operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning,
technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or
related experience
- OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply
Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning,
operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning,
technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or
related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Category Management experience in one or more key
categories including IT Equipment and Components, Mechanical &
Electrical Equipment, Data Center Operations Services or Spare
PartsOther Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security
screening requirements are required for this role. These
requirements include, but are not limited to the following
specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be
required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon
hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering,

Analytics, or related field AND 11+ years supply planning,
operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning,
technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or
related experience

Chain Analytics, or related field AND 9+ years supply planning,
operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning,
technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or
related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of Category Management experience in one or more key
categories including IT Equipment and Components, Mechanical &
Electrical Equipment, Data Center Operations Services or Spare
Parts
- Project Management experience plus communication and
influencing skills
- Experience with Global and Regional planning and
development
- Commercial understanding and experience developing contractual
frameworks for relevant categories (IT Equipment and Components,
Mechanical & Electrical Equipment, Data Center Operations Services
or Spare Parts)
- Knowledge of the data center industry and experience managing a
variety of project delivery methods
- Ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing
the appropriate contracting and compensation approach
- Technical ability to write contracts with an ability to set up
sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them
- Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups
across organizational levels
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean,
Six-Sigma, etc.) with an ability to facilitate change
management
- Experience implementing new processes and obtaining buy in from
cross functional teamsResponsibilities
- You'll establish and lead the development of multi-year
sourcing strategies for complex purchasing opportunities
company-wide, optimizing their value and ensuring continuity of
services.
- You'll define a vision and strategy for process management to
drive consistency and improvements, while leading cross-functional
contract and pricing negotiations across purchasing
categories.
- You'll drive business impact by establishing functional
standards and procurement performance expectations that define
success metrics.
- You'll manage price and procurement requests and complex
pricing issues across purchasing categories, addressing unresolved
escalations and driving process changes broadly across the
organization.
- You'll lead pricing and negotiation strategies for the most
complex purchasing categories, fostering partnerships to negotiate
decisions and driving consensus in goals.Microsoft is an equal
