  • Commute Trip Reduction Program - Earn cash back for participation!ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY -This job is responsible for serving as the Regulatory Officer for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) and for ensuring that the organization is in compliance with safety, health, emergency management and environmental regulations, including regulatory directives from the Department of Health and The Joint Commission. - An incumbent effectively advances a culture of accountability towards regulatory compliance and implements/maintains proactive, timely and comprehensive standards and procedures for collaboratively identifying and effectively managing physical and behavior-based hazards to people, patient's property and the environment. - Work also includes
    • Identifying and taking appropriate action to mitigate/resolve potential issues/deficiencies/violations within defined scope of responsibility;
    • Coordinating a variety of multi-disciplinary performance improvement team efforts;
    • Coordinating the adoption of changes at the division level to address/resolve non-compliance issues and/or implement improvements to current practice and
    • Providing advice and counsel to executive leadership on complex legal/regulatory challenges with division impact. - An incumbent performs extensive rounding on clinical departments at all VMFH campuses to monitor activities for compliance with regulatory/accreditation requirements and the environment of care standards of the organization. - There is significant emphasis on the collection/analysis of clinical/statistical data in order to identify problematic issues and formulate timely and effective performance improvement initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance. - Work also includes developing/delivering ongoing staff training programs designed to promote an understanding of compliance issues and the consequences of non-compliance. - QualificationsEducation/Work Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college, and six years of progressively responsible work experience involving compliance with state and federal standards and regulations in a health care setting including three years in a supervisory or management capacity. -Licensure/CertificationCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Nursing Commission.
