The Sales Director manages the C & I sales function to achieve profitable growth within the assigned region. He/she is responsible for portfolio management, people and performance leadership, sales and supply management, and market & business leadership. The role entails a variety of responsibilities ranging from sales and re-sales management, tendering, pricing, quoting and receivables management to the strategic growth and rationalization of sales portfolios within the region. This position has direct managerial responsibility over the assigned regions sales and sales support staff and indirect responsibility over Supply, Dispatch, Credit and segment-related Financial Operations such as Billing, Collections, etc. Key Responsibilities: - Directs the execution of segment sales strategic plan within the assigned region to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded. Manages assigned regions margins through continuous review of market conditions and competitive landscape. - Maintains a healthy growth of assigned region sales portfolios and identifies / develops new customer prospects through research, event participation, potential customer contact and proposal development. Ensuring that there is a healthy pipeline of opportunities to achieve plan goals. - Provides proactive management & oversight of receivables portfolio within a region. Regularly reviews reports to ensure accounts are trading within terms, makes recommendations about accounts on a go-forward basis, provides direct management of key customer accounts and keeps customers within terms. - Directs account responsibilities within a region. In conjunction with the Marketing team, rationalizes existing accounts to preclude internal or inter-region competition and insure proactive sales management. In addition, assigns new accounts to create growth opportunities. - Manages assigned regions sales and sales support team including staffing, hiring, performance management, training and development, career path and team succession. - Interacts with sales key surrounding functions to ensure proactive business performance and flow; this involves working closely with supply, credit, collections and billing and dispatch. - Provides clear, accurate and timely updates of regional performance to the segments Business Leadership as well as the Executive team. - Receives data from multiple sources concerning strategic plans and bottom line performance as well as daily activity tracking such as quotes, accounts receivable, sales performance, profitability, net capital employed. Takes appropriate steps to manage each element. Must be able to communicate through direct means, email and written correspondence. Must have a working knowledge of financial statements and reports. Must have a solid working knowledge of the Companys EIP system. - Strong leadership required; direct management responsibility of the entire sales and sales support team. Indirect responsibility for supply, billing, collections and credit. #LI-GG1
