DescriptionWeyerhaeuser's Raymond, Washington lumber mill is
seeking a Project Engineer.Weyerhaeuser Wood Products is leading
the world's softwood lumber market with innovative products,
systems, and services for use in a variety of residential,
commercial, and industrial applications worldwide. We are looking

100 years.The Raymond facility, part of Weyerhaeuser's Western
Lumber mill set, consists of log yard, sawmill, dry kilns, planer
and shipping operations. The mill currently manufactures kiln dried
Hemlock and Doug Fir lumber products in support of the business's
strategic plan.The Project Engineer will be a key member of the
operation's maintenance team. It is a full time, exempt position,
reporting to the Engineering Manager.Key Functions
- Work safely in a manufacturing environment
- Deliver regions capital improvement plan and drive
deadlines
- Work will mill team to develop scope, estimates, and
justification for projects
- Manage projects or other internal or external resources to
complete projects
- Accountable for safe implementation of projects
- Develop project schedules and project execution plan to ensure
projects are on time
- Meet safety, cost, schedule, and performance objectives
- Evaluate effectiveness of each capital project and use this
evaluation to improve capital process
- Support mills with troubleshooting safety and reliability
issues
- Help apply engineering principles to mill repair and
optimization activities
- Be a resource to identify and implement Operations Excellence
initiatives
- Participate in implementation of manufacturing solutions
- Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis where
appropriateQualifications
- 2-6 years' experience in engineering field
- BS Degree in Engineering
- Demonstrated personal commitment to safety
- Goal-oriented attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and
practices
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to
communicate with all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Functional knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks or related drafting
software
- Experience with capital project management in a manufacturing
organization
- Demonstrated leadership
- Thorough understanding of statistical theory and
application
- Understands key concepts in area of expertise (test results,
code acceptances and design methodologies)
- Willingness to work swing shift, weekends and holidays if
